Does Anyone Even Look?

I check blogs on a regular basis. Living so far from my family and dearest friends, this technology tool allows me to stay connected. I am always excited to see the latest pictures and everyday anecdotes. I even try to leave a comment to let them know I've been "visiting". My wondering is . . . does anyone visit this blog (with posting often separated by months)?

Aaron's Milestone Birthday

All Aaron wanted for his birthday was to spend some time in nature with his wife. It was a beautiful day in the Rocky Mountains. The warmth of the sun and the rippling winter waterfall cannot be truly captured in a blog. And unfortunately there are no photos of the humungous bull elk we kept our eyes on as we climbed the rocks along the alluvial fan. He grazed just above the main waterfall as we rested on a cold rock in the sun's rays. Here's a shot of the gorgeous day we enjoyed.

As we hunted for a cabin we could possibly call our own, we came upon a cute, hunting fox. (Check out the following slide show.)

To top off the day, Adam brought home a delicious cake from Cold Stone.

Christmas 2009

White Christmas

My sister and her family have hosted Christmas for nine years. I've been so furtunate to have safely made the voyage to their northern home each winter. We attend Christmas Eve service, eat a nice evening meal - usually Italian in style -- (yep - this year I ruined the noodles, but they didn't complain too much), open a few early presents, and get items ready for Santa (cookies, milk, and notes). Staying under one roof allows us all wake up together Christmas morning, and that is such a wonderful blessing.

The winter really took over this year! It seemed like it snowed for 3 days straight! Which provided the opportunity for creating a snow fort and building a snowman (Way to go Adam and Grandma Charlene). I think Grandpa Fred's favorite part was spending time with Elliott learning the fine art of Wii games.

Ryan and Aaron got to play at being handy men when they fixed a piece of furniture and the mail box!
